Ingredients 250g self-raising flour 1 teaspoon (heaped) bicarbonate of soda 1 teaspoon (heaped) cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt 150 g caster sugar 350 g apple sauce (6-8 apples cooked in small amount of water and mashed – if they are small use 8 of them, if they are bigger, only use 6.) 100 g margarine 2 tablespoons golden syrup 100 g raisins Instructions Peel the apples and cut into pieces. Simmer them until they’re soft (about 15-20 mins), then mash and allow to cool. Cream the margarine and sugar together until soft and creamy-coloured. Add the cooled apple sauce and syrup to this. Sift the flour into a separate bowl and add the bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon and salt and mix together. Add these dry ingredients to the apple sugar mix and add the raisins.
