Fashion is more than clothes; it’s how we express ourselves, connect with others, respond to our environment and make change.
This Sustainable Fashion Week, JVS is excited to host an beautiful afternoon of exploring the intersection of fashion, climate and justice, join by word poet, activist and and workshop facilitator Leah Thorn, founder of the inspiring a:dress Campaign. This event will be celebration, connection meaningful change.
Visible Mending Drop-In (3–4:30pm) with artist Miki Shaw. Bring any beloved second hand garments or projects & learn how to give them new life through simple hand-stitching techniques. All commenda are welcome- ranking from patching, stiching, enhancing and more! This drop-in session is a chance to slow down and reconnect with your clothes. No experience required- all are welcome!
Tea + Vegan Cake . Like any Jewish event, there will be food. We will provide cake and tea- all vegan & kosher! There’ll be time to chat, relax and connect.
Sustainable Fashion Pop-Up . Discover pieces from local, ethical designers and creators, including Leafthief ! If you’re a sustainable or vegan fashion creator and looking to join the pop-up, we’d love to hear from you!!
The Subversive Catwalk (4:30–6pm) .
See the a:dress short film and hear the inspiring story behind the campaign, which has used a bold and beautiful fashion statements to start honest conversations about the world we live in, environment & social justice.
A:dress will also show a subversive catwalk of up-cycled, meaningful garments to challenge norms and spark dialogue.

Standard: £10
Supporters rate: £15 (profits will go to supporting the a:dress campaign)
