Passover’s all about freedom, so why not free the planet and animals too. Here’s how to make your Passover more eco-conscious, mindful and meaningful.

  1. Ditch the meat. Swap brisket for plant-based mains like jackfruit stew or mushroom wellington. Way less carbon, way more flavour.
  2. Vegan Seder Plate. Replace the egg with an avocado pit or tomato, and the shank bone with a beetroot. Tradition, but make it cruelty-free.
  3. Go local + organic. Hit up farmer’s markets for fresh produce. Fewer food miles = happier Earth.
  4. Eco matzah. Buy from brands using minimal packaging or time permitting, make your own with simple ingredients.
  5. Cut food waste. Plan meals smartly and reuse leftovers. Matzah brei for days!
