Veganuary has hit this year’s sign-up target of 500,000.
This truly is a record-breaking year. Not only do they have more people signed up than ever before – half a million to be precise – but they’ve reached their target for sign-ups in record time.
‘We are over the moon. It’s clear that 2021 truly is the year of positive change.’
UK supermarkets embrace veganism
ALDI has dedicated a whole page on its website to why and how people can go vegan for Veganuary. A major food giant promoting veganism: that’s a huge deal. It’s the kind of thing we thought was just a pipe-dream when Veganuary was founded back in 2014.
And ALDI’s not alone. Tesco, ASDA, Marks & Spencer – really all the supermarkets are supporting Veganuary participants in some way.
Tory MPs sign up for Veganuary
Ten Conservative MPs from across the UK have signed up for Veganuary, creating ‘the Vegan Conservatives’
“It’s inspiring to see our policymakers taking personal action to protect the planet, reduce the suffering of animals, and help prevent future pandemics.
“Their leadership will hopefully encourage many more people to make a positive change in 2021 and try vegan this January.” – Veganuary Co-Founder, Matthew Glover |
